Birchwood's 7th Annual Arts & Crafts Show Is Fast Approaching

Our 7th annual show is fast approaching and will be bigger than ever. We have had to move next door to Table Rock State Park to accommodate the traffic from all our visitors to the show. This year we will be on the spacious grounds of Table Rock Wesleyan Camp on West Gate Road, just past the west gate to the Park. This road is a semi-circle off Hwy 11, so the show can be accessed from either end.

This year we have over 60 exhibitors scheduled to present a wide array of arts and crafts for your enjoyment.  Nationally known wildlife illustrator Bruce Bunch will charm you with his beautiful illustrations of birds, fish and other animals in nature. Laural Horton, author, researcher and quilter will have her one-of-a-kind quilted potholders. Gloria and Joe Williams of Lucky Acres Farms will have oh-so-soft creations and yarn from their alpaca farm. And, there is so much more.

There will be a wide selection of artists working in a variety of mediums and crafters with creations in wood, pottery, stained glass (including pet portraits), chair caning and basketmaking, smocking, knitting, crocheting, felting (hats and scarves), weaving, spinning, photography, cards, hand carved walking sticks, shadow boxes, goats milk soap and fudge, birdhouses, porch furniture (including swings), chests, wire and handmade glass bead creations, gourd artists, jewelry makers (including wooden jewelry created by David Tillinghast), and more.

Music will reflect the music traditions carried to this area from it's original settlers. Emerald Road will perform from 10:00am until noon and Michael Ellison and his group, Six Chickens and a Beer, will perform from 12:30pm until 3:30pm. While enjoying the show, take a break and enjoy some of the delicious sandwiches and homemade baked goods of Yoders at Meece Mill, who will be set up on our grounds with food and drinks.

Our show will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. In the event of rain, we have access to 3 large buildings on the grounds, so the show will go on.

We look forward to having you with us to enjoy the creativity of our area artists, crafters, musicians and baker. Our show is co-sponsored by Pickens County Museum of Arts and Folklife and with ATAX funding from the County of Pickens.
